I sure there has to be a limit. But I think it more depends on what you are buying. They are not going to want to sell something at an employee discount that they are low on inventory and know they can move at full price. But if they have the inventory or can quickly replace it, then I think they might not care since they are still making money, just on a lower margin,

Is there a limit to the amount of shit you can buy? If not, buy as much as you can, and when you get fired, sue the bastards for wrongful dismissal.

You're welcome.

In the U.S., they have to offer your job back if found of wrongful termination I believe.

well if you're selling on egay, there goes your profit. between fees for them and PP you will get next to shit for profit.

and good luck on CL. cheap ass bastards wanna pay 1/4th retail or offer you a go-kart or crossbow for every fukkin thing

I remember at Footlocker in FL they made you wait xx amount of months as an employee before you were entitled to the proper discount. I guess to prevent against ppl like you. It might've been 10% for the first 3 mths and then whatever after. I'm just guessing #s though as it was so long ago. So maybe check that out? No point going through the whole process to get a job if you won't get the discount right awaywith your idea.

A friend's boyfriend who worked there would get his mates to bring shopping trolleys to the back door and just steal shit flatout. Can't remember if he ever got busted.

Probably not as those types of thefts are rarely detected.

Foot Locker sells shit so they don't think anyone would consider stealing it.

You could also start an actual eBay business and buy shit off a distributor for a steeper discount. Wouldn't have to take a crappy retail job. Just a thought.
do you need to own a legitimate business to buy directly from distributors? Ive wondered this and never had the know how to locate distributers and check prices/ requirements for ordering. Is it a contract deal where you have to order in bulk for most. In any case any info is appreciated.

There are lots of Chinese distributors that are set up to serve individuals, and they'll ship very low quantities. I'm thinking about electronics in particular. To get the deeper volume discounts (and credit/invoiced account), you'll want to set up/incorporate a company.
