Lehner’s debts also included missed payments for a collection of rare snakes he purchased for $1.2 million in 2017, according to the bankruptcy filing. Lehner keeps the snakes at his reptile farm in Plato, Missouri.

@Boner_18 don't know how familiar you are with this, but doesn't Chap 7 mean you don't have to pay anybody anything? Article says they have 10M in assets plus Lehner has rest of this year's salary along with next two years totaling 10M+. Doesn't mention gambling losses but being in LV maybe he's been rehabbing at the casino's.

Not my area but I took a bankruptcy class once and I'm interested in it personally. In a 7 you have to total up debts and assets (minus exemptions like homestead) and then everyone gets pro rata share. Then you're clouded with bankruptcy for some period of time, no creditors will touch you. You have to pass a test to get a 7. If you have income that fail you then you have to do a 13. A 13 is a "workout" where you negotiate payments with each creditor.
