St.Louis can be beat, Pittsburgh can't. I have not bet against St. Louis the whole year, but would like a good price on Phoenix or Dallas against them.
 
The Canadiens fire their GM with 5 games to go. WTF is the point of that? You put the idiot there, live with him 'til the season is over. :facepalm:

I hope Patrick Roy is hired to replace him and Michel Therrien becomes the next coach.

Since this is just a PR move, do people actually get excited for this. OR are they just trying to have the press talk about who the new gm will be instead of the season.

They fucked up not getting Kirk Muller.
 
No one cares. Everyone knew Gauthier would lose his job after this season. Now you have to scramble to replace him before the season is even finished and you're basically telling the fans that you don't care about the 5 remaining games.

I think the Habs just gave in to media pressure. This Franois Gagnon guy from La Presse has been calling for Gauthier's dismissal for a while.

The timing of it is puzzling.

There's no reason at all to scramble to replace him before the season is finished. They just need to get a guy in by the time the draft rolls around to fix that mess. The Habs need to rebuild, but having Price in net has fast tracked the rebuild.
 
Seriously not just speaking as a Philly fan, but 5 in the East seed has to be the worst position in the playoffs this year except possibly the 8 seed. You going to tell me when the chips are on the table Pitt and NYR aren't 2 of the top 3 best teams in hockey?

There's a lot more to the GM job than just hockey operations. I'm guessing that they'll hire a replacement within a week.
 
Pretty aggressive Matty. I say it will take a month or 2 before they decide. The decision to hire is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. I hate the Habs, but I'm a hockey fan and want to see them and the Leafs winning and playing each other like the old days. The Montreal situation is a mess. Worse than the Leafs, but the Habs have a legit starter that they can build around.

Is it just me or does Malkin seem to be bigger and stronger every time he goes on the ice? He seems to be way more physical this year than I ever remember...

Stamkos works out with Gary Roberts in the off season and I'm sure that there is a direct co-relation to his performance and his off season training. Having players like Lacav and St. Louis and a mentor like Yzerman doesn't hurt either.
