Washed my phone and it did not come back to life. New phone lost all contacts and apps. Here's the ones I remember:

ringdroid
skyvie
advanced task killer
net something or other anti virus I cannot remember

What have you been using and what is good. This is fucking intense.

we should have tried 2 days, we left it in there for awhile, ty FF I'll keep u posted.

the rice absorbs the water but the process is slowed down because of the cooler environment of your fridge. This is a good thing to prevent the water from moving anywhere new and just being slowly absorbed by the rice.

BOL. I've seen the rice trick perform miracles, but it doesn't always win.

My evo has been dunked 3 times, including one where I had to climb way down a tree before retrieving it from the stream. No worse for the wear.

I've seen a few other smartphones survive solid dunkings, too, and I've never actually seen anyone's croak from water damage. But, it's a small sample and doesn't include any washing-machine-type shenanigans.

I heard stories of people dropping their smartphones in the toilet and surviving if pulled out quickly.

Well it sat in the washer for a good 10 minutes before I realized it. I quickly took it apart, dried it, and put it in rice. Though I noticed a few hours later he took it back out and tried to turn it on, so chances are he short circuited it. There is water in the touch screen, I really don't think it's going to survive this time.
