Any of you ever bought a Heavenly Ham? I hadnt but for some reason coming home from playing golf Sunday I had a craving for ham and decided for whatever random reason that it HAD to be a Heavenly Ham. So I ride over to the Royal Plaza to buy one of these hams only to discover that they close at 3PM on Sundays.

So yesterday after work and now craving this special ham even more cause I couldnt buy one the day before I drive back into Gainesville to finally purchase my ham. I assumed these hams were a bit pricey but I had no idea just how proud they were of their precious little pigs. A half bone-in ham ranges from $50 to $70 and $90 to $110 for a whole ham. A 4-5 lb boneless goes for around $70 and a 7-8 lb boneless is around $120. Thats a lot of cake to make a sandwich. I did drive all the way in though and I had the craving so I was getting a ham.

When I got home and finally made my sandwich I was severely disappointed. It was not the ham I had been craving after all. This is a brown sugar ham and for some reason I thought they were pineapple marinated hams. The dogs are currently eating $70 worth of ham this week.

yes, I like them but not enough to pay that much for one.
I worked for a guy( very generous boss to work for, at least to me he was) back before I went on my own.
he gave me a whole ham for Thanksgiving one yr and it was the best ham I ever ate.
been craving one since but cant justify that kinda of coin on a ham.

sometimes miss working for him now, garuenteed check every week, with a near guarenteed cash bonus every week
the last Xmas I was working for him he gave me $2000 cash and 2weeks paid vacation. you dont find that kinda of treatment of employees in my field

I am sooooo about to make RJ's day

Wally, go to the grocery store and buy you one of those little hams for about $15 dollars. Take it home, put it in an oven roasting bag, mix up some brown sugar, crushed pineapple and mustard. Pour over that pig and close up the bag. Place in the oven at 300 to 32 degrees for a couple of hours. Take out and eat. I actually baked one just like it last night. It makes a mighty tasty little pig and sammich for later.

Ham is good meat. I like it.
Pavy, pork is the tastiest meat god created, pal.

Souvlaki anyone? with Tzatziki of course.

Pavy, Souvlaki is right up there on the list of great Greek inventions like math and anal sex.
