Maybe I'm old school, but I think I would pay my book before I paid my mortgage. And I would certainly pay him before partying and posting about it on a public forum.

Depends where in Canada, pal.

West coast of Canada has mild winters, little to no snow and an early spring. I'm talking about Vancouver and Victoria British Colombia. Grass is green year round and winter temps are much milder than anywhere in Michigan (rarely does it get to or below freezing).

Southern Ontario winters aren't particularly cold for more than a few days at a time but tend to be overcast and gray which can get depressing.

I really enjoyed winter in Saskatchewan, even with the extreme cold, the sun always shined and it seemed like there was never a cloud in the sky. Highways were usually bare and that made a hugh difference.
