Penetanguishene is usually shortened to Penetang, or just P-tang.

P-tang, although a small and somewhat remote place, has an internationally renowned Mental Health Centre which provides both conventional care and care to the criminally insane.

Between getting high and playing petanque, my friend and I once wrote a song about P-tang. It was inspired by a meeting in a Penetang park with someone who did not appear to be quite balanced and approached us saying, "I not, I not, I not, I not, I not, I not . . . "

We eventually had to be on our way, leaving the individual in our wake repeating her mantra.

I remember the chorus to our song. It had kind of a reggae vibe to it.
