so fucking dry in the house... chucked the old ones and went with the ones with the mist you can see... check your humidity levels boyz... very dry air can cause all sorts of skin and breathing problems ... i try to keep mine around 45%

I should prolly get one. All winter my hands are constantly cracking at the knuckles and splitting at the fingertips due to dryness. There is general dryness, plus I get extra harshness due to my working conditions.

The split fingertip effect can actually get quite painful and I have weeks where I can't type properly due to a major finger hurting.

I know I can use moisturizing cream - and I have a big bottle both here and at work - but I forget. I usually remember right before bed but that's about it. That's not enough.

I'm a stupidhead.

Try some Bert's Bee's salve Muddy. It is mostly used for gardening etc... Great product for itchy, cracked and dry hands. I believe there is almond oil in it so make sure you don't have any nut allergies.

Oh ok. Thanks.

that a sarcastic reply or am I wrong?
from my exerience and what was taught at least in our climate is humidity for most part is a pain in ass at times during humid season for us installing it. no matter how perfect you fit joints and profiles to match once season changes the moulding and to lesser degree wood floors move with the seasons.... ie. leave job not a crack or seam to be seen , come back after bavk in winter and joints have opened up.,
then close up during summer months

I'm all ears though if you have more knowledge on subject and can learn me a thing or 2:yoda:

i also have a big de-humidifier for the summer months... if i didnt run it, i would be clogged up all to fuck

fwiw, ive always heard that extremely low levels can have an effect on furniture in the house... im guessing extreme would be 20 or below :dunno:

Even with a humidifier..in my area you wont reach summer levels of humidity. A humidifier as far a wood goes can help prevent the drastic humidification drop to hopefully prevent the wood from cracking in the first place.

Best way to install a wood floor is to acclimate the wood to the house by letting it sit in the house for 3 days. If installed in winter no doubt its coming out of a cild dry warehouse which will cup the wood with summer humidity
