Told ya! lol. Glad you had fun! I hope you charged everything to the room and then saw a host before you left.

I have not paid for a room or a meal/drink at CP in 10 years. Then again I could sit at a roulette wheel for hour after hour...once 8 hours w/o a break..provided my money didn't run out. Roulette is a high comp game because of the bad odds. CP used to have a European wheel (single zero,) but usually hidden back in the $25 min room.

I didn't even take you as serious Bacon. I'm sure he's not worried about it. He's too busy seeing numbers in his head. black 28/red 3/black 15/red 32 and nursing his post LV aches. I got alcohol poisoning in LV once....like REALLY bad...and once I had to have a cab pull over so I could yak on the way to the airport. I'm sure I wasn't the first or the last.

Cougar..did you eat at Rao's? Interested in your take of the Italian food.

I don't think I'm a huge fan of the room...but I'm a traditionalist. Looks like they took one of the really old towers and tried to find a way to do something different. I guess calling it CP and having the Asian theme doesn't work. Do you check in at the CP check in? Doesn't really matter if you get to use the pool. Did they have the CP room service menu?

That hamburger looks amazing.

I need to take some pictures of Palace Station and other depressing Vegas casinos for realist art

Palace Station where I stayed the first time I went to Vegas. I went with a group and had never been so I just went along. I don't know if we even left the hotel.

2nd time I stayed at Caesars and haven't stayed anywhere else unless traveling with friends who wanted to stay somewhere else. I have stayed at Mirage, Flamingo and Imperial Palace (ick) also.

Mirage eh. I think the pool was ok I think I have seen Mystere 4 times. The bar right next to the theater is fun. Kahunaville?

Flamingo...ok for the price...good location and pool(s) is not terrible but seems like it was hard to get sun.
I really liked the Flamingo in Laughlin.
Giant room. I think it called something else now.
IP- I like to gamble there...wouldn't stay there again..rooms pretty bad, but I think they may have remodeled. Good location though.

I am sure there are nicer places than CP now, but I will never stay anywhere else unless forced to.

I've stayed at Caesars, meh, I expected it to have more professional feel. Just another Harrahs network property imo. I'm sure it was classier at one time. The rooms are nice for sure, but my choice of where to stay among Harrah's properties (now called Caesars Entertainment:choke:) is Rio. I prefer that location and the rooms are large suites, nice enough for me.

IP is the Quad now and looks nothing like its old self (its another Harrah's property). The rooms might me same though (with balconies)

I used to love the old small tower rooms w/balcony at Stardust.

Wow. no IP? I used to go every few months,, but haven't been in maybe 5 years I .got completely Vegased out. I will be ok with going one or two more times before I die. I prefer Laughlin now as I get older, although you can't beat the pools in Vegas.

I have never stayed at the Rio. Unlike you I hate the location...also that's where I got alcohol poisoning. The Voodoo lounge was fun though. I don't know if it's still called that, but the bar at the top where it has an awesome view of the city.

That city is constantly in a state of flux. I would go to CP, and go back a few months later and they had torn down something and built up something else. I can't even imagine what that area looks like now. I guess it's easier to get around town now..there wasn't much (or any) of a monorail system when I was going.

I have always wanted to stay downtown, but always ended up reverting to CP in the past. I love going to Fremont though.

I think we have talked about this before Reno, but have you been to Laughlin?

IAG

So do all the other geezers pal :winkwink:

yes I do enjoy going to Laughlin occasionally from Vegas, was gonna stop in this last time but got too lazy. I like swimming in the CO river at Harrah's beach. Laughlin has somewhat of an appealing feel to me but usually not a lot to do there.

Voodoo Lounge is still there, went there with Choo,rj, Durito and others couple years ago. View is great, the music is hard to take, and the crowd none too impressive. Should go there one more time before Diamond Card expires.

Didn't eat at Rao's

One thing I never do on vacation - eat at Italian places because I can get better here (or at the very least comparable)

Yeah I did the rewards program and saw the host - I liked the room quite a bit and really miss the shower lol

Never stayed at the Harrah's in Laughlin, but went to see Jeff Foxworthy there years ago at some outdoor deal. I think they are the only hotel there that has something of a beach. I assume you have been to Oatman to see the donkeys?

Wow. It's weird to realize I actually went out and did stuff at one point in my life. I guess I will be able to do that again...it's just a weird feeling having been basically "locked in" for all but a week in 2 plus years.

That makes sense. My tastes aren't "sophisticated" enough for a lot of the fancy food at CP (not talking about Rao's) I used to eat at Nero's (steak) but I see that is gone. They did have a decent food court and buffet.

haven't heard of Oatman. I see enough donkeys in Cripple Creek.

harrahs appears to be the only beach, yes. The riverwalk is kinda cool, you see lots of animals. I once had skunk calmly walk right by me on it :dunno:

Seriously you haven't been to Oatman??? It's about 20 or 30 min drive from Laughlin. As you said, there's not a lot to do in Laughlin other than the riverwalk and water stuff. It's worth the trip. I don't remember donkeys in CC....been a long time since I've been there though. They sell carrots at the little shops in Oatman to feed the donkeys. Also some historical stuff.

You have to go the next time you go to Laughlin if you want to get out and about.
