What type of crappy cell is it that you cross a boarder and don't get service? I've always had service no matter where I go. Mind you the bills sometimes when I get home are stupid.

You generally get service but any call you make/receive is classed as an international call which isn't particularly cheap.

An internet cafe might not be a bad idea in a city of that size.

I had 10 days in vegas and came home to a $500 bill. Mostly texts and a few phone calls. I did have to pay for it.

It's something stupid like 3 bucks a minute + 60 cents per incoming text/ 15 cents outgoing.

Were it not for the Mara fiasco in NOLA the bill woulda been 15 bucks.

Reno, every day I get a system access fee for having my phone on, then the crazy roaming charges etc. Never mind anything else. It adds up quickly if you use your phone in another country.
