I think the algorithm is starting to like Amish Dave
Would love to see another uptick but definitely happy that 1.5-2k is the new normal, less duds than before for sure.

Trying a completely different format for my long-form video this week (13m video covering Am I The Asshole threads on Reddit), curious if that will do any better than the skits or also live in no man's land.

Do they allow promotion so you can post your video there? some of them reddit mods are bitchy about everything
Yeah I'm not sure to be honest. I'm not going to for now. Still need YouTubes algo to stop being a hater.

Posted the Oak Island one on the Oak Island reddit. They seemed to like it and it got more views than usual. But algo still buried me.

It seems like the less talent that is required to produce the product, the more popular it is

I feel (and sound) old saying that but…..
Yeah, it's REALLY strange.

There's tons of stuff that's incredible out there, super high production value, killer editing, etc.

But then there's also tons of low-effort shit that does super well.

I'm just trying to find my piece of the pie. At the end of the day, I can't afford to pour 60 hours a week into content creating and editing. I've got to continue to prioritize my real work that actually pays the bills, have some semblance of a life, etc. So if I can be one of those lucky fucks that pops off with low-effort shit, awesome.

With that said, I don't imagine I'll ever "sell out". Like doing some wild-and-wacky-fake-bullshit that I hate would quickly feel like a job and not be something I'd be interested in doing long term. So I'm still hoping that whatever I come up with, it still has enough of my own spin on it to feel worthwhile.

Obviously a .000001% chance this ever goes anywhere, but I'm going to give it my all in the little bit of time I have to commit to it.
