Speak faster and edit tighter. We all have turbo-ADD at this point. I felt the urge to set you to 1.5x playback speed. Punchline was funny.

I will keep watching, and provide unsolicited criticism. šŸ¤
Thanks for the feedback! This is going to be a tricky balance for sure. On the one hand I'm making a very conscious choice NOT to be more wild and wacky and fast-talking because I'm going for something different. On the other hand, you are 100% right (especially since shorts have rewired our brains even further), so doing things "my way" won't mean shit if no one watches. In regards to editing, I think it's pretty tight here, it just may not feel that way due to the slower speaking/delivery. I experimented with tighter and the two Daves were just talking over eachother and it didn't feel like an actual conversation.

I think this is one of those things that will come with getting a few more of these under my belt, hopefully my delivery and execution will improve as I go! Appreciate all the feedback/criticism you've got, share away!
Are you gonna go for the heavily edited/fx or just quick cuts minimally?
I'm going to start incorporating a green screen, but that'll be it as far as fx go, at least for now. If by some miracle this actually turns into a money-making endeavor I could dedicate more time and resources to bigger and crazier things, but it'll be pretty low key stuff for now. With that said the green screen should help for sure.
@Vegas Dave I'll give this a view and like Tron was thinking maybe just April Fool's thing.

Comedy works well sometimes as a team .... possibly this gentleman would work wonders.
:fiverdance:
They are very old Penn and Teller so opening is there ..... you guys come be known as Dave and Teamer.
I don't think I could afford the salary of a high-end talent like Mr. Teamer!
Dave, I liked this a lot. It comes off as very easy for you! Is it that easy for you?

Although I wouldnā€™t have thought about it unless @Matty mentioned it, I agree with Matty on the editing. I Subscribed to YouTube and Followed on TheGram.
Thanks! Yes and no... the writing is easy. The "performing" or whatever is easy, though I've got lots of room to improve there. But actually posting it I did have a lot of anxiety, for sure. I imagine you get some before posting your music vids as well?
Get it! Cheers to you! :cheerscheers:
Thank you sir!

I do think it's great that you're attempting it and I think you should keep plugging away regardless of initial results. You already realize that it's going to be a process, and you're 100% going to get better every time you publish something.

BTW I'm sure you realize that being 37yo means absolutely nothing. You've got so much time to work with. Do not agonize over your age - if you do, in 10/20/30 years you're going to retroactively feel like an idiot for doing so.

I've had many discussions lately with people around my age who want to start a YouTube/Shopify/side hustle thing, and the common theme is that people are so afraid of failure that they don't even try.

Just fokkin do it. Swoosh logo.

Get after it Dave and good luck. I would assume you just need one thing to get some momentum with even a small subset of internet denizens and you can ride that wave. Keep posting them here, I'm not a social media guy much except horse racing tweeter.

Thanks for the kind words/support my friend. Was definitely just doing a bit with the 37 thing, definitely don't care! With you 100% on the other things mentioned here. That's always been me; a million things I "should" do and never do them. Time to change that. And yeah, going to give this at LEAST six months... hopefully by then I'm at least trending in the right direction enough to justify the time and effort put in. If not, certainly wasn't time wasted, I'll still get better at editing, have fun along the way, etc.
Iā€™m going to watch this tonight w someone else as I drink wine. I want the full stand up comedy experience
This... may not deliver :D
Good for you Dave.
Thanks man!
Did you subscribe Shorty?

I still want to see Dave eating a thai papaya salad
Ugh I hate papaya. Love a good thai salad though, would depend how papaya-forward it is. Blind rating going with a 1.65 Matty Rains out of 5.

Thanks man, exactly what I'm thinking. All it takes is one to pop off. Have a friend who posted a video of her gaming that popped off for 100K plus. Now she routinely gets 1-3k, nothing earth shattering but still super cool.
Whereā€™s the video with you discussing you won the game, but not the spread and you claimed to not understand ???
That one I remember, that was a classic. Whatever happened to SBRVIDEO.com??

You already have 1000 subscribers, that's substantial, right? One of the two requirements for monetization
Those are a holdover from my college pick vids days. Only have a handful so far on this journey haha.
1000 subs and then either 4,000 watch hours on standard vids in one year (šŸ˜±) or 10 MILLION shorts views in 90 days (šŸ˜±šŸ˜±)
