I have tickets to tomorrow nights yankee game and can't decide whether to hawk them for massive profits or to attend the game where Derek Jeter has a good shot to be the first yankee to reach 3000 hits.

What would you do?

sell them. no one will care if you go or not. people will tell you "ah man that's so cool" but they are just being polite, because when you're bragging about being there, they're just thinking you're boasting and they could care less.

sell them. take the money and do something really worth bragging about.

They cost me 20$/ea and could prolly sell for 80-100 profit/ea.

A few points and questions. I do think people care. As a kid im sure I said things like "my dad/mom/other was there." For example, my aunt was at all the zep concerts at msg, my pops was at the first game at shea. Another thing that shows how people care is the fact that the secondary market exists and the prices are high, otherwise these tickets would be priced the same as anyother day.

My question is, aren't the people who say sell (myself included) just valuing the almighty dollar in a way that is just as silly as people who value this history?

Interesting stuff, and im always torn. For the record I will probably go... unless of course the price spikes to my breaking point...

Jeter's a douche. Make some cash off of his sorry ass - what if you go to the game and he doesn't even get the hit?

And if he does manage to reach 3000, you'll see the replay so much on TV that it'll almost feel like you were at the game anyway.

WTF, you said "massive profits". I wouldn't sell them just to make 80-100 bucks each.

Given this, I'd go to the game. Not for bragging rights, just cause it's a Yankees game.

i would go to the game.

how bad do you need the money? obviously if you're scrounging to put food on the table or pay the mortgage, you should sell the tickets.

let's say you get $1,000 for four tix...will you do something useful with the money such as place it in your kids' college fund?

Yeah I agree. I was thinking he was going to make a big chunk of cash.

Unless I was in serious need of money I'd just go to the game. Even if Jeter doesn't get his hit, it's still a Yankees game and the atmosphere should be great regardless.
