Muddy....if it ends in a tie either by everyone remaining being eliminated in a week, or more than one person survives all 17 weeks, the pot is split up between those players.

Fiver check your Facebook.

Stevey check your email.

Juror can you enable Pico's PM's for me?

Since people are paying into a pool, let's get the rules straight and leave no room for negotiation.

Here are some rules from one similar site which lists a timetable of deadlines which I assume is correct and specifies a nice "if you don't make a pick in time, you automatically get the most popular one" with an added tiebreaker which won't discriminate against someone who happens to miss picking a game for some unforeseen reason.

And one here where you need to make your pick before the deadline but can change it afterwards as long as your game hasn't started (and has a better rule if everyone gets eliminated in the same week).

I'll draw up an "official" set of rules over the weekend that everyone can agree/disagree with and by the time the season starts there will be a consensus and so everything will hopefully run smoothly.

Let's start with these posted at one of the sites and people can agree on any changes and/or add/delete any rules.

After a quick run down of the rules, I think

#1 is not applicable
#8 just complicates things
For #10, people need to agree on what to do if all remaining players are eliminated on the same week - split the prize or all get a free pass to the next week

Also Juror will have to make the contest threads be non editable.

1. One entry per person.

2. You must pick the outright WINNER (No point spreads) for one NFL game each week.

3. A team may only be selected once during the season (i.e., if you pick the Vikings in week 1, you may not select the Vikings again for the remainder of the contest).

4. You continue in the pool until a loss (or tie) is suffered, then you're out. YES, TIES ARE LOSSES!

5. Players WILL NOT recieve a BYE. They must select a team each week.

6. Picks must be submitted BEFORE THE WEEKLY DEADLINE. If you forget to make a selection you will be given the most commonly selected team that week, ties will be broken alphabetically (as they appear in the selection list). If you have already picked that team you will be given the second most selected team.

7. Players who fail to submit a pick for three (3) consecutive weeks will be removed from the pool.

8. If for some reason you are unable to submit your pick through the website, you may BEFORE THE WEEKLY DEADLINE submit your pick by e-mailing it to: admin (at) nfl-survivor.com We will use the pick that has the latest time stamp prior to the deadline as your FINAL pick. (i.e. If we receive a pick via the internet on 9/2/03 1:00pm and another via email on 9/2/03 3:30pm, the pick that was emailed will be used because it was the last pick received by us.

9. It is your responsibility to make sure your pick is submitted and accurate. Once your pick is submitted it will appear in your pick grid. After submitting a pick check your pick to ensure the pick was submitted and that the correct team was chosen. After the deadline passes all picks are final. We CAN NOT change picks after the deadline due to mistakes (choosing the team above or below the intended pick, etc.), so make sure you check the status of your pick after it is submitted.

10. The game will continue until one contestant remains or the NFL regular season comes to an end. If the NFL regular season ends with no outright winner, all remaining participants will be declared winners and split the prize. However, via mutual consent among remaining participants, the pool may end at any time, with the prize split among the remaining participants. If all remaining participants are eliminated in the same week, they all remain alive and continue on to the next week.

Last year I ended up in a tie and we split.

I was fine with that.

This was all the way into the playoffs, so I figured may as well split.

With any of the rules which could go two ways (like this one or whether we can allow someone to have an automatic pick as per #6) we could have a vote among all participants (weighted by the number of entries for each voter).

Polaroid are you gonna play?

I've always ran my pools where if all remaining are eliminated at same time, they split pot. But I'm down for majority vote.

If for some reason someone can't get a pick posted online before gametime, I have no problem if they wanna text or call me and let me know and I can post it online from anywhere.

Rule #7 doesn't make any sense. If you miss ONE week you are out. Not three consecutive weeks. Doesn't make sense.

UTEOT will do.
