*SPOILER ALERT*
It is not fresh in my mind at all but I remember not finding it a particularly funny movie. I remember rolling my eyes at some dick jokes and some situations where awkwardness/discomfort were supposed to equal funny but, in the absence of actual wit, just equaled awkward/uncomfortable (for me).
It obviously had ambitions of being more than a comedy. A dramedy! And it was, but the execution didn't work for me. I think I would have needed to care about the Adam Sandler character and whether he lived or died or got the girl or whatever to sit cheerfully through such a drawn-out, meandering story about him. But they didn't give me much reason to care about him. The parts that were clearly meant to be emotional or sentimental mainly just made me shrug.
Again, it is not fresh in my mind but those would be my main criticisms. But I give it points for effort and originality.
