Email Question

I've deleted all my contacts, junk folders, all folders, basically everything on both the live and hotmail accounts. I know where the virus came from and called her to let her know and called everyone I had in my contacts to inform them not to open anything from either of those accounts.


New gmail account has a high security password Enigma.

McBaseball, I think they are now working on it. I just went to sign in and there is a mesage saying my accounts have been blocked due to someone using my account in an unauthorized manner.

RJ, already on that. This computer is going to my tech guy tomorrow.

I didn't import my contacts from infected servers to the gmail, I manually put them back in.

I haven't sent anything from this computer to any of my other laptops so I shouldn't have infected them and I haven't opened hotmail or live with the other computers since this began.

I think I have everything contained, hopefully at least.

Would I be naive to think that this is just a Hotmail problem and not something I need to worry about with my computer or other passwords?

Most likely it's just targeting your emails to keep propagating It self but just as easily it can log your bank of America, chase logins. Anything popular you're at a greater risk.

I guess I will go change all my passwords. What a hassle. My friend had same thing happen to him and he recommended I use this http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html to clean up all the malware and hasn't had any issues since.

This has screwed up my YouTube acount as well. The vedios I have done under the old email account are still there but I had to create a new account to upload new videos. For some unknown reason YouTube won't allow me to just change who I was and merge my videos.

Correction, something else is wrong and I can't figure it out. For whatever reason the videos won't upload to YouTube though.
