Immodest though it may be, I have to say yes, I consider myself good looking. Like I don't expect Calvin Klein to be chasing after me to model his underwear, but when I look at other guys my age, I feel very good about my appearance.

I mean, I think they did a study where like 3% of the population are like ridiculously good looking.

I'm pretty sure that those 3% didn't have a whole to to do with what looks they were born with.

He's saying that people associate with people who share similar traits. There definitely is a segment of the population that is very beautiful and very dumb - they naturally flock to each other because of what they have in common (like any other group).

Ehhh. . no.

Just because someone is attractive doesn't mean they are vapid and unintelligent. And if there is a flock of attractive people together, you would be presumptuous to believe they are all shallow and worthless.

This is akin to me saying all zit faced geeks are smart and deep. Some of them were. Just as many were simply boring zit faced geeks though.
 
there actually is a fairly strong correlation. More Beautiful (using rating scales from judges looking at the same pics) correlates positively with higher intelligence as judged by Wechsler IQ

I remember talking about this in some class in grad school for like a good 30 minutes, trying to come up with many of the variables and factors on each side.....

there were pretty weak studies and not very large...

but I know for a fact there are at least some of them out there...

Secondly, my intuition would lead me to believe that the more attractive people possess higher intelligence on a grand scale, and in a general sense.

There is a segment of the population that is very beautiful and very dumb. I didn't imply correlation. And people naturally flock to other people within a narrow range of their own level of attractiveness & intelligence. That is pretty much scientific fact on top of being common sense.
