Worked out well for this guy. They even made a movie about him.

Beat me to it. Nice one.

I assume you don't have wife/kids?
Then do it. You will not regret it.
What do you have to lose? Money. Money is trivial. As long as you stay healthy, you can always find a job again, settle down somewhere, and start building an existence again. but the experiences you will make living in other countries will be worth so much more than the small material loss. You will come back a much richer man.

Given serious consideration to just buying a one way plane ticket to somewhere. Have a EU passport, figured i can maybe just bum around, and find some odd work in some European countries.

I thought about doing the same thing, Spain seems like a nice place to hangout for a while.

I have an Italian (EU) passport that expires in 2013 and hasn't been used once.
I usually travel on my Canadian passport.

Tully, if you do it I may follow suit.

Fawk a bunch of having kids... my nephew is about the coolest kid ive ever been around...is already an online gambling degen, loves to play poker, rides motorcycles, plays all sports and absolutely loves the lifestyle his uncle is grooming him for, and he is only 10... but after a few days of being around him, i want to tie bricks to the little fuck and throw him in the pool. My niece, well thats a different story...i want to duct tape that spoiled bitch's mouth shut the minute she walks in the door. having kids aint for ole rayray...not right now at least.

I would def. opt for the getaway from life for a while type of vacation over having kids... but by all means Emmi, enjoy yours! haaha

Is land cheap there?
Saskatchewan?

In most places, absolutely, but the land is filled with valuable commodities - Potash, Oil, Natural gas, and the people who live there earn better than average $$$.

Western Canada is where the money is nowadays Rogatien.
Alberta & Saskatchewan have the worlds second largest oil reserves - behind Saudi Arabia.
