What a fuckin farce this whole thing was. Herd immunity was the move. Fuck man.
Was a farce. Hopefully people have developed immunity to this stupidity for the future, in terms of the next "virus crisis". Imo move was to let people decide for themselves. The few businesses that wanted to remain open, do so. The cool people can patronize them, the rest can hide and feel good about themselves.
I'm guessing very few would be into locking themselves in, if they couldn't force others to do the same. As is apparent now.
I wanna know if all these people complaining idiot Trump is opening too soon, are still quarantining? Guessing no.

number 1 deterrent is a simple mask

normalize mask wearing when you're sick, or if you don't want to get sick during winter, and you will avoid most of the infections, no need to shut down an economy, a simple mask will do most of the trick

this behavior is normalized in hong kong, korea, taiwan, japan so much that it becomes a habit, it's nothing extraordinary

The sick people in those countries wear a mask as a consideration towards others. It's a different culture. I have serious doubt if you can get people in other countries to follow the same practice. Individualism and personal freedoms get in the way.

they're mostly drive thru/ pick up and go. They should be least effected :dunno:

They're all over inner cities, where they're used as coworking spaces by laptop workers.

We have 4 of them within a 5-min walk:

kind of a funny article regarding what we've talked about before. Feels like at this stage it's all a moot point, unless second wave hits
“Most powerful people in this country will not have immunity and they will not set up a system that excludes them from things that they like to do.”

The low-dose steroid treatment dexamethasone is a major breakthrough in the fight against the deadly virus, UK experts say.

The drug is part of the world's biggest trial testing existing treatments to see if they also work for coronavirus.

It cut the risk of death by a third for patients on ventilators. For those on oxygen, it cut deaths by a fifth.

Had the drug had been used to treat patients in the UK from the start of the pandemic, up to 5,000 lives could have been saved, researchers say.
