Common Ichiro get over 200 hits thread!!!!!!!!!!!!

guy has like 10 straight seasons of 200+ hits


with a season avg of 218.5 hits

So like an idiot I bet this old balls guy to continue that crazy never approached streak and said YES he'll do 11 straight

so I actually got over 197.5 hits at like -125

he's been hitting around .250-260ish most of the year after a horrendous start..


he's gotten pretty consistent over the last month... but no break out streaks....

just enough to make it ALMOST INTERESTING.


at this point he has 160 hits

needs 38 to win my bet in 23 games

I figure 5.5 ab's per game (walks not counting)

so he'll have to hit about .333 the rest of the way if he plays every game...


help me root this in, and help to root Ichiro hitting .340ish so he can get 200+ hits again...

yeah they do but he's going to be well below average by then I think

right now he's below average. rarely gets any extra base hits. bats .270 with almost entirely singles

above average defensive RF still. steals bases

he never took walks but he used to offset it by hitting better

now he gets on base 31% of the time, making him one of the worst leadoff hitters in the game

4-5 for the night but it's still a tall order for the rest of the season. If he were on the Red Sox or Yankees (actually with any other team aside from the Mariners) then he would have a lot better chance - going into today's games the Mariners had the lowest number of plate appearances by quite a margin in the majors (and lowest AVG, OBP among many others). And that's an even worse offensive display than the Giants who don't get the luxury of a DH.
