After turning down a reported seven year deal from the Texas Rangers and a seven year deal with more $ from the Yankees, he seems to have signed a five year deal with the Phillies worth around $100 million.

Yankee fans - don't despair, Carl Pavano is still available on the free agent market.

yes, they also had 8 of 9 starters on the AL all star team that year. lost to the wildcard yankees. this was the season that made me realize that i woudl be a loser for rest of my life, regardless of whether i supported either the expos, the mariners, both or neither

makes sense for the phils to go balls to wall here. their window of opportunity is shrinking, and in another few years they'd have to blow up the team and start over again.... they just got a new ball park ect.

but they do have some old pieces in their lineup. I'm not sure if they have anyone to bring up from AA or AAA from spring training or the 2nd week of May, to bolster the corner OF positions and 3rd base..... but I think they need to upgrade at 2 of 3 of those power positions to be a complete team.

Then again, with that rotation, maybe they can afford to rely just about any offense
