I have been impressed at some of the southern conservative types who have come out in favor of getting rid of the dopey flag. You get so used to people not even thinking about what's going on, not weighing what's right/wrong or good/bad. It's just, "If those guys says zig - Ima say zag."

And of course there is always the basic fear/resistance to change and the contortions people can get themselves into with that.


But a few prominent people have surprised me by basically saying, "Just because we have sucked for a long time, doesn't mean we have to suck forever. I say we stop sucking."

My bank actually had their voice prompts give Press 1 for Spanish. It was changed.

When I call my QC-based bank from Ontario, it defaults to English and asks you to press 9 for French. Reverse is true when calling from QC.
