We were all attempting to have a good time with virtual strangers. I wasn't gonna make things more awkward and cause a scene by calling him out in front of everyone. A few of us were chatting about it later that night.

This is the Origin of the scammer, we know as Casperwaits.

Not to inflame anything, but I think Bread mentioned something about it to me that night actually...

I met up with you guys at Carnival Court shortly afterward.

Is that really the mf'r? Figured it was a joke profile.

I didn't know about a scam. Everyone else ate there. I showed up late and ordered a few beers. My tab was simple.

What WAS odd to me was the way Caspey felt the need to take charge of the bill with a bunch of people you just met. And I did hear some grumblings of people feeling mildly forced into paying way more than they consumed.

I'm not saying he did or did not purposely scam anyone on that. I have no clue. Just thought the way he handled it, especially as a first impresson, was a bit dubious.

note to self...if ever dining with rasper, insist on my own check...

i eat dinner once a month with guys from my investment group...they always order some bottles of ridiculously expensive wine, that i dont drink any of, and then they want to split the check evenly after dinner:choo:...only took 1 time of spending $200 for a salad, filet, asparagus and (wine i had none of) for me to tell them they could fuck themselves on the group check from there on out.

Ever watch a crime story and half way in you have already got a pretty good idea of who did it? Every now and then but rarely the writer takes this into account and throws a twist in that no one saw coming and someone else did it. I like it best when that is the situation but Caspy it’s looking like you had a lazy writer.

Casper, I'm rooting for ya but the court of public opinion and a somewhat dubious track record it's looking rough.

If there is no end game where we have to account for our sins is it better to be the suckers or the scammer? Spin this shit casper.

Casper, it's not out of the realm of possibilities that you were druged shortly after collecting everyones money and the real bandit took the extra cash and you then regained consciousness without ever realizing you had been out and paid the tab.

Now, who could have been that dastardly?

Blitty? He's sometimes smarter than most would give him credit for but this seems more devious than a trust fund kid could come up with.

Matty? Obviously Matty has the intelligence to think this many steps ahead and we all know he has access to lots of various drugs but Matty just doesn't have drive to get this overly involved.

Teela? Like the Black Widow when Teela puts her man down he's not gonna get back up.

Bread? Perfect opportunity for Bread to come in late pull this off and nobody would be the wiser. Only Bread would have taken the drug himself.

Who could it have been Casper?

Fok'n Vegas Dave? Casper, Dave very well could have already stolen your belongings from the bus, pawned them, loaned you YOUR own money back and now profited at your expense and made you the fall guy.

People were complaining about the way Casper acted, but I didn't think it was because they thought that he pocketed any money. They thought that he was being obnoxious and then the way that he acted at the next bar was found to be a bit rude. He and I got into that night because he thought the rest of the group abandoned him when I tried calling him multiple times to tell him where we were. (PS: Don't ever call me and ask me for directions - you will be lost for hours) My perception is that they were just irritated with the way that he was behaving, not that he was taking money.

I thought that was a fake account too. Welcome back MF!

Sounds to me like typical situation where person likes to show off a little in front of the waitstaff etc... I've encountered this often. The individual in question wants to look like he's the one in charge, and is a nice tipper. Especially if it's a cute girl waitress, or the individual works for tips himself. And that would very much fit in with Casper's style.

Yeah.

I think it prolly was a little bit of both. But as Teela said, who the fok cares, it was a fokken meal.

My generic $8 glass pipe is another story altogether though.

:mudcat:

Yeah, he was a REAL big tipper with our money.

What does that mean, when you say who cares it's just a meal?

What would the situation need to involve where one WOULD care about it?

Does anyones opinion of him change depending on whatever the story you hear about him is?
