Smelled suffocatingly thick...

Previous two days were really quite smokey. So much so that around 25 people had been admitted to hospital with smoke exposure...

Still smokey in some places but largely under control now...:pope:

Yeah that road was paved just recently. 15 miles of dirt before next town haha...

RJ what kind of natural disasters have been had in your part of the world?
 
Just a couple of typhoons in HK, no real big damage.

when I was in Rio every year there were landslides with the Summer rains, not ever where I lived but around the city, the Rio terrain is all hill-y and people just started building in the most dangerous places long ago, always some deaths guaranteed

I hear in HK most structures have been built typhoon proof (guess it would be a pre-requisite..)

Landslides wouldn't be fun but at least you wouldn't have a lot of time to panic before being entombed...

Thing is fire is that a lot of ppl think its the fire that kills you but its not. Its the enduring heat that fire brings with it that most of the time will get you first...

Doing an Asia tour in January. Cant wait. Singapore, Phuket, Vietnam etc...:yesss:

That clip was scary...

On the night the fire happened the police allowed me to drive through the main road to my house and it was similar to that (including a falling tree that landed right in front of me in middle of road)...

Wasn't going as fast as those guys though (max 50kmh)...

The adrenalin was at 100% cos in those situations its either fight or flight my friend///
