There are several alternate cryptocurrencies Rogatien. Litecoin is the main runner-up to Bitcoin. It's been traded on smaller exchanges up to now - tonight the biggest exchange by far, Mt. Gox, confirmed that they were going to add Litecoin to their site.

Price is blowing the fok up right now. Beautiful thing to watch.

What does erin think of your new hobby?

Same way she feels about yours. She's vaguely intrigued.

Its kind of interesting that you like investing in some thing this volatile but hate sports gambling. I couldn't handle anything with a long term holding period. That's why sports doesn't bother me, game is over in three hours. Got some NBA series bets that are on my mind all the time because they last two weeks. Guess I'll stick to first inning bets.

Yeah. I dunno. There's really nothing to do with this thing, just buy and hold. I swap some BTCs for LTCs and vice versa every now and then, but it's very low maintenance overall. No set schedule, no garbage 3-pointers with 0.2 seconds to go, etc.

I likes it.

Uh. Yes.

I got these potent tabs from Canada.

Spent 7 hours with this chick in my bed. Watched Avatar blu ray.

We thought we were in the movie. Crazy alien sex.

The "Potent & Clean" blotters? Was thinking about the Dutch ones.

Maybe I'll get those instead if they're good.

Man, there's a nice selection there...

FF that is some crappy journalism. The delay was announced weeks ago. Mt. Gox sent out a release last night saying LTC was coming "soon". They got the platform ready and everything, they're just waiting for the site to be more stable/DDoS-resistant.

Huge spike in LTC prices last night when the release came out, I made 2 extra BTC just by buying immediately then selling before I went to bed.

Yeah Matty I think I have a problem now. I need to sign up for BitCoin Anonymous. I'm going to buy/make a minig rig this weekend for LTC mining. I'm expecting it to cost ~700 and will make it's money back in 6 months. :endoftheworld: Where are you getting release information on the LTC platform? I need to make sure I'm in before that hits.

Wheres the 1st inning money tree these days?

Mt. Gox is pretty active on their Facebook page.

FF I just pulled out my old computer parts to see if I could rig something. I've got everything but an OpenCL-compatible video card. I don't think I'm going to bother. If I run into an ultra-cheap Radeon 7970 then maybe, otherwise the money's better spent buying the coins directly.

Not sure you're gonna be able to make money for 6 months, but GL to you sir.

even for litecoin mining? I understand the complexity is far beyond the point for bitcoins, but figured it was far less for litecoins. Is there something I'm missing? There probably is since I've spent about 2 hours on this so far. I'm still in the exciting anything is possible phase of research. Even if it took a year to get my money back I still might be fine with it. I want a fun hardware project for the weekend and I'm tired of mucking with my wnba model.

FF the LTC difficulty is going to skyrocket once the ASICs take over the BTC world. Everyone with a GPU rig is going to be on LTC. Unless the LTC price catches up to BTC (which would be fokken amazing!!! :omgomgomg:), your profitability is going to vanish very quickly.

I think you'll be able to make money for a bit cause a lot of nerds are gonna be brand-loyal to BTC, refusing to even consider the other coins. But I don't know how long that'll last.
