Get out your Coors tonight cause it ain't Miller Time - Wash -1.5 (+210) packs value
Well last night was a good return to NHL handicapping as we tagged the Flyers 1.5 (+225). It was a little uncomfortable for awhile as Stamkos did his thing early but the Bullies humiliated Tocchey Hockey's boys in the 3rd 5-0 for a final score of 7-2 easily covering for us.
Let me ask you a question. During the 2010 Men's Olympic hockey tournament, who was the most overused player (for good reason)?
Let me ask you another question. Do you consider ot a good thing or a bad thing when handicapping an NHL team for them to have played the night before? Especially against a well rested team?
Now let me ask you a 3rd question - which NHL team has the most effective and explosive offense this year?
If you are an advid hockey fan you instantly know the answers to the questions and if you aren't you might as well.
1. Ryan Miller
2. A bad thing
3. The Washington Capitals
That's why tonight's play takes out to Buffalo as the Sabres play host to the Caps.
Buffalo lost last night and hasn't been that good for awhile now. Let's not forget that they had one of the best starts in the NHL and now arein 5th in the conference and are a putrid 3-8-3 in their last 14 contests.
In regards to how Miller is feeling after his incredible Olympic run:
"I'm a little spaced from traveling, the time change," Miller said. "We were up there for two weeks and everything's thrown off jut a bit. ... I'll get my rest but there's not much of a choice. We've got to keep playing." (Ryan Miller, quoted by Yahoo Sports).
Do those sound like the words of someone who is well rested and geared up for tonight's contest?
I know he's arguably the best in the world but with a tired defense in front of him, being exhausted himself and against the most explosive team in hockey this is a brutal spot.
We also know how dominant the Caps have been, especially since the beginning of February, when well rested.
Look for a pissed off Ovie (after Russia's early and embarrassing exit from Vancouver) to shine against a tired and reeling Sabres team and the final score to be around 5-2 Washington.
Washington -1.5 (+210) (Sportsbook.com) is the play tonight.
As always best of luck today all, take it down.
Thanks for doing the leaderboard, Dunder. If you ever need a break from grading I'm happy to take some days off your hands. We can do the spreadsheet in Google Docs so all the graders have access if you wanted to look into sharing the load.
Splendid job as always Dunder.
PS...Fuck US Soccer.
