McBalls, Cam isn't as agile of a runner as Vick was but he is much more powerful. Tebow was as powerful of a runner as Newton but not as fast nor as good of a passer. Young while at Texas was as close to what Newton is now but I still think Cam is a better passer.

It's all speculative but I'll stand by him being the best all around "athlete" I've seen playing quarterback. There have been better pure passers by far and there have been better pure runners but the combination is pretty phenomenal.

And now my college football is tainted.

Heh heh. Heh heh.

Taint.

No but seriously man, I'll have to figure out a side to root for here. Even as I type that, my instincts are kicking in and saying Oregon. Oregon seems very probable.

But I've got plenty of time to decide.

I remember one year recently one of the teams actually had 6 weeks off before the title game. NCAA = bunch of boobs.

Tebow and Young shouldn't even be in this discussion. I just have a hard time giving Cam such stature after one stellar college football season. Vick has made elite professional athletes look ordinary. Let's see how Newton does when he is up against higher levels of competition and then we can have a more realistic debate.

no doubt Vick is superior to Newton..
Vick is like a cat, Newton more like a Mack truck will some speed...
but Newton has had one of the best seasons for any NCAA qb in recent history and just about single handedly carried his team.
the old saying, you get what you pay for holds true

McBall's you are talking about a matured, seasoned Vick. I am talking about these guys at the college level. Newton is superior in development at this point in his career to what the other 3 mentioned were. When you evaluate the total package at the college level Newton is just better.

What will happen to him in the NFL is anyones guess. I wouldn't pass on him though if I were the GM of a struggling team who was looking for a QB.

McBall's you just took it out of context. I obviously said that but it was in terms of college. How could we compare a seasoned professional to a college level guy? Ok I guess we could but that wasn't the context of the opinion.

Personally I don't care for Cam Newton and I think he is as fake and crooked as they come but the guy is the most talented "athlete" at the quarterback position I have ever seen on the college level.

The greatest individual effort by one player I have ever seen all time would be Vince Young and the National Title game against USC.

McBall's, I don't get caught up in the now.
