Depends on the season. Not usually during baseball. Generally during football and basketball, I'm running all over the place.

Apparently I don't have enough action to stay at Caesars, so my options are Rio, harrahs, flamingo, imperial palace, and bally's.

Rio has the best rooms it appears, but is off the strip, which I think is a downfall depending on how easy it is to get to the other casinos and sportsbooks. It looks like the highway is between them.

Should I go with Harrah's or Bally's due to location?

How do you feel about walking? Personally, I really enjoy the walk from Rio to the strip. There is a pedestrian walkway over the highway.

Being that the people going are young and cheap (except when it comes to gambling), we would walk everywhere we went.

How far is the walk, 10 minutes?

I'm a bad judge of walking times. My guess is 15-20 minutes.

Herman, yes maybe 15minute walk to Caesars/Bellagio. I take that walk all the time. Remember also that the Rio is right next to the Gold Coast which is in many ways a better book. It's also right next to the Palms.

If you want to stay on the strip pick Ballys. It's more modest but nice and the sb is large and very nice stadium seating type set up.

Well, how did you get your comped room???

You might get something for betting sports. I assume you have a players card, ask how much play is required when you get there.
Video Poker, Slots, table games will all earn you comp if you play enough.

I would pick the Rio out of those choices. What about Planet Hollywood or Paris? Those are both nice hotels with good location.

I can't get PH or Paris comped either, just the one's I listed.

Table games play at my local Harrah's property.

Since your room is already comped the hotel where you do stay will be hesitant to give you additional discretionary comp. They will tell you to charge everything to the room and then check your play upon check out. You could still earn points which you can use for comps. It's complicated.

Bottom line if you gonna play table games you're probably better off playing at a casino other than the one you're staying at.

Actually one of my friends has given Harrah's properties a lot more action than I knew of, so we have 4 nights comped in one of the lower priced suites at Caesars Palace.

Monkey, how is iPhone 3g coverage at the books out there? Is it possible to have Pinny open and browsing before I make my bets?

I'm assuming that's what you do when you're running around making bets?
