Watching kids sucks, and now-a-days, they frown on beatting the snot out of them. The best thing about kids is repeatedly trying to concieve them in various positions several times a day, and failing.

I recommend that you pay them to play dead. Just tell them, you will give them 10 bucks an hour to play dead, but they have to make it through the entire hour.
