We can't really afford to lose Jack at this point. Our offensively capable D-Corps are already pretty weak, and JJ being shipped out means Randy Jones on a nightly basis getting big minutes. Despite the boost we'd get from Kovi, I don't think we are a better team if we make that trade.

Would you really give up Ryan? Kid's a fucking awesome hockey player, and as an RFA you are going to have his services for at least the next few years (unless he gets pouched, which would net you tons of picks). I wouldn't give him up for 2-3 months of Kovalchuk if I were the Ducks.
