What a cool looking kid oksy, hes already rocking some cool hats and long hair. You need to get him an instrument or a tennis racquet soon and start working on your obsessive and psychotic tennis mom skills early. Look up Gloria Connors, Jimmys mom, she was downright scary as a tennis coach. Arthur Ashe said if he didnt make it in the tennis world he would need to see a psychiatrist.

Wow, I don't think I've ever heard that about Jimmy's mother. Definitely going to have to go look that up. There was an article about Venus and Serena a few weeks back in the NY Times and the author said when he started interviewing and researching them it was originally intended to be more of a reflection of their career and saying goodbye type of piece. But then of course Serena kicked major ass, they won the doubles, etc. But the part I never knew was that their mother was the one with all of the tennis skill. For some reason I'd always thought of her more as a cheerleader and protector from their psycho dad. It's one of the better articles I've ever read on them if you haven't seen it already (and reminded me why Serena refuses to play Indian Wells)

Thats a good article oksana, I am not a fan of richard williams but its amazing what those girls achieved coming out of that environment. This is a good article on Carol Connors http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/30/magazine/30Connors-t.html , she actually sounds like great coach and a great parent. I was just kidding about the obsessive soccer/mom/dad thing though, my dad was like that about sports and somebody has as about much chance as hitting the lottery as making money playing professional sports. Tennis players are like gymnasts , its a total obsession but they rarely end up having time to finish school. Reading all these tennis twitter feeds is grueling at times, its like that djokovic quote about andy murray "he can write a book but I dont think he has ever read one" LOL.

Any sort of little entrepreneurship project at a young age is great, lemonade stands and mowing lawns is great, but selling grit magazine still hasnt paid off for me.
