A lot of it is genetics.

I did feel better when I was on a pescatarian diet for about a year, but I had no gains. It was too hard to build muscle. I tried tuna but didn't want all the mercury. Eventually I came to the conclusion that for me, 1-2 steaks a week worked.
I know some people that eat steak every day. I won't go that far, and I do think the gym bros overdo it with the eggs as well. But steak and eggs, when balanced properly should be a part of everyone's diet. At least those who lift.
If you don't lift, then yeah, go for the salads. I love salads by the way. Just not a huge part of my diet...
