I woke up in the middle of the night "deaf." Terrible pressure feeling like when you are on a plane, but worse. Unable to hear the slightest thing, even right up next to my ear.

Of course, my hypochondriac self started googling, and apparently random "sudden deafness" happens. I suppose it could be something else..but it doesn't hurt, no drainage...I'm not sick. Wax? Can that just almost instantaneously make you unable to hear?

WTF?

barometric pressure messes with my ears/hearing. any nasty weather in your area or headed that way?

Well there has been a drop in temps last day. The only other thing is last night I had a slight coughing fit and had a brief dizzy spell..not sure if related or not.

What happens to you Pucky? How long does it last? I have 2shoulder related appointments today, and trying to decide if I should cancel and go to an ENT instead.

This is seriously fucking with me.

It took weeks for one of my ears to go back to normal after I came back from Montreal in July. First time that happened to me.

Sudafed seemed to work as a quick temporary fix, but yeah, I was completely deaf in my right ear unless I tilted it upwards.

Very annoying.

IAG relax baby. When we get bad weather rolling in and the barometric pressure changes (low pressure to be more exact) it causes my ears to "pop" which seems as though I am losing my hearing. Same thing happens when I dive off a diving board or dive into deep water. It messes my ears up for about 2-3 days.

Relax. You are not dying or losing your hearing. You can get that all checked out for free in Canada. No charge. In fact I have a broken wing right now and it cost me $0. I go to see the plastic surgeon on Monday. Cost - $0.

Keep that in mind for our master plan.

Well this makes me feel better I guess, but I haven't gone anywhere. I just woke up in middle of night that way. So weird. I guess it can wait a day and I will try to get to an ENT tomorrow. It's totally annoying...moreso the pressure/muffled feeling than the loss of hearing really.

I'll pick up some Sudafed and see if that helps. Fok.

don't waste your $$$. It will go away on it's own. stop being so paranoid.

I will. At the rate I'm breaking down, I will need some free healthcare. I just got my MRI bill for shoulder...almost $1000. What's wrong with your wing? I'm off to doc, but will check in later.

I will also try to relax but damn...I have had ears "pop" on planes many a time, but this is crazy. I'm going to try tilting my head too.

In my semi pro volleyball days I was playing a heated indoor game when an opponent hit a ball that came off the block and hit me straight in the ear going at least 80 mph. My ear rang for at least two seconds, and it was really annoying.

When and how did this happen, I need the full story babe.

stripping and re-shingling the roof on my garage. Chinese neighbour had to help me on the last day. He found it really difficult to keep up with me. Even with a broken finger (spiral fracture). He actually helped my wife bag up the old shingles that were on the ground. 14 construction bags worth. It was very nice of him, but I know he's thinking driveway in the winter.
