Could one of this season's 'American Idol' frontrunners be disqualified?
'Idol' executive producer Ken Warwick told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show this morning that producers are awaiting doctors' clearance for contestant Crystal Bowersox to perform in tonight's show. Bowersox was hospitalized yesterday morning with what Warwick called a "previous condition," causing the show to rearrange its performance nights -- boys first, then girls -- for the first time in its history.
If Bowersox can't perform tonight, Warwick said the singer could be disqualified.
"If you're in the Olympics and you're going for the semi-final or for the final, if you don't turn up ..." Warwick said on the show.
"Then you're out, you're disqualified," Seacrest finished.
Warwick said he should know if Bowersox can perform by this afternoon. If she is disqualified, the show will only eliminated one girl on Thursday's results show.
