I met Pedro Martinez on the streets of Toronto (Avenue Rd and Bloor) near the Four Seasons Hotel years back when he was with the Bosox.

I spotted him walking on Bloor with a pal of his holding a man purse and yelled "Hey Pedro!"

He looked at me, nodded and waved. That was it.


Also met Lou Piniella a few times at Bigliardi's Restaraunt (and OTB). Lou liked to drink and bet the Canadian harness races when in town. We talked horses and I never called him Lou or Mr Piniella, to me he was just another schmuck blowing money on the ponies.
