EURO 2012 Match Previews and predictions

Group Elimination A: Friday, 8 June 2012 - Warsaw - Municipal Stadium

Poland and Greece set to kick things off in the Euro Cup 2012 opener.

Poland

The Poles will open up and kick off the festivities for the 2012 European Championships holding the home field on June 8 when they take on Greece in a Group A match in Warsaw, and this will be the first test for all 2012 Euro Cup betting fans. . .

Greece

Greece came in dominating their qualifying round by winning 7 out of 10 matches in their qualifying round and to also mention they have lost 1 match in their last 20. Greece is entering the tournament on its high horse and deservingly so. . . .

Predictions: Poland wins 2-0

We can see this being a real all out war with Greece wanting payback but with the home field and the crowd behind the home team its going to be very tough for Greece, With striker Robert Lewandowski being Polands biggest scoring threat arrives at Euro 2012 in the best shape of his life.

Poland has competed in one European championship since 2008 not winning one match. The Poles drew one and lost two in the 2008 Euro Championships. They didnt qualify past the group stage. They have had more success on the world stage and have played in seven World Cups.

Greeces last major defeat came at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, when Argentina defeated them 2-0.

We look for Poland to continue their dominance over Greece.

Poland - Greece

The opening match brings face to face a host of the EC Poland and surprise from EC in 2004, from Portugal, Greece. . The match will start at 19:00 and will be held in Warsaw. As the first match of the competition neither team wants to lose. Probably will be a confuse match , each team looking to not receive goals or to lose. Poland seems to have a slight advantage, besides that is the home team and will receive public support, they have the team and some interesting players, their star being Lewandowski playing the German champion. From friendly matches played during this season, is obvious that both teams had trouble scoring : 4 of last 5 games of Poland ended up with a goal while the Greeks they succeeded on January 1 -0 against modest Armenia. Nothing in this game do not think we see too many achievements and I think the first team to score will win . I see an equal first half with both teams have been studied long and we will probably see a 0-0 at halftime.

Czech Republic - Portugal

The opening quarter final sees Portugal take on Czech Republic and for me Ronaldo & his fellow team mates will take their place in the semi finals after 90 minutes of football

Portugal only started playing against Germany when they fell a goal down and were unfortunate not to snatch a late draw. They then cruised to a 2-0 advantage over Denmark before becoming complacent and letting their opponents back to 2-2 before snatching a late winner. Finally they fell behind to one of the hot pre tournament favourites Holland before moving up the gears and winning the game comfortably 2-1 and for me they look like a team capable of making a serious assault on this title

As for the Czech Republic well quite frankly I'm not convinced and I feel they were very fortunate to progress past the group stages following their opening round 4-1 defeat at the hands of Russia who somehow managed to get themselves knocked out at the group stages. The Czech's then won 2 very tight games 1-0 to finish on 6 points and progress to this stage but those wins over Poland & Greece were far from impressive and the Portuguese are a much superior outfit to either of those 2 sides

For me Portugal have underachieved for many years but this current group of players have an excellent blend of experience, youth and most importantly world class players. Ronaldo is the obvious figure head of the team but players such as Pepe, Nani, & Coentrao all like the limelight and will thrive on a stage such as this and I feel their opponents just don't have the same quality players available to them and I think Portugal will triumph in this one. I also feel that Czech's are predictable with their attacking play and a little slow at the back so I expect Portugal to punish this severely if presented with opportunities and they could well run riot if they hit the front early

Portugal to win is my pick here... Good Luck

Osters IF - Falkenbergs FF

A mighty leader in Sweden - team of Osters will look for another step toward to promotion in this match were they host team of Falkenbergs .
Oster are with record of 11W-1D so far and with 6 wins from 6 games at home ,so anything but the win will be dawngrade for them .His opponents today -team of Falkenbergs most probably will look for one points here ,as his ambitions (and posibilities) are to keep place in division .However - Falkenbergs are tough team ,who despite of sit at 15th position could surprise anyone in this league - they had 5 loses ,all of them by just 1 goal .so my recomendation is to avoid AHC ,and to search some similar like last H2H games : just Home win ,with middle stack .Good luck to all !

Sampdoria - Varese

Italy, Serie B Playoffs for Serie A

This is final match and the winner of the two upcoming matches will be promoted to Serie A. Sampdoria Genua finished just 6th at regular season and got last playoff spot. They did not convince at all and direct promotion again to Serie A was the main aim of the season but had many problems. Their squad has much quality and they are condemned to be promoted again and forgot last years disaster of being relegated. Varese finished 5th are clear outsider in this match. Sampdoria much more quality beating 3rd sassuolo in2 matches 2:1 at home and 1:1 at Sassuolo now with home advantage in first match and they have to win this.

Sampdoria Genua to win @1,85

Hungary - Ireland

Hungary host team of Ireland in this friendly match .
Home side come after 2-1 win over Czech Republic in Friday and his coach start to prepare team for World cup qualification ,who is starting in September .Hungary lost just one match (2-1 from Poland) in last 5 games,so they really show some improvement in the game .I expect some new players to be used and more changes in regard of this line .Midfielder Buzjaki will miss the game also for injury .The guests - team of Ireland will play final warm-up match before EURO 2012 were after 6 days they will play against Croatia .Coach Trapatoni probably will try to keep the main players fresh and out of injury concerns ,so this will be chance for young players to take experience .Ireland come after 1-0 win over tough team of Bosnia last week ,which extend his unbeaten run to 11 games ,so they should try to keep morale on a level few days before EURO 2012 finals to start .
My recomendation is : Carefull play from Ireland ,which can led to Draw after HT .Good luck to all !

Freddie Roach Says GSP Vs. Anderson Silva Will Likely Never Happen

UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre's boxing coach Freddie Roach was interviewed this week and was asked about the possibility of seeing St. Pierre match up with Middleweight Champ Anderson Silva. Roach explained why he feels the fight is unlikely though, for those hoping to see it:

"Anderson Silva hits harder (than Georges St. Pierre) because he's a lot bigger. But Georges is also a good puncher also. But the thing is, size wise, I think Anderson's a little more fluent at this point. He's a lot bigger than Georges, of course. That's why I don't think that fight, they've been talking about that fight happening, I don't think it will happen. I've talked to Georges about it and (Silva is) just way too big."
