Inventing might not be a full time job but if you watch Shark Tank there are tons of people trying to build a better mouse trap

Sorry @kato, answering your jobs question now.

Basically the job market blows, I didn't look real hard since it was around the holidays. The other main employee sent out 75 resumes and got two responses. He went to work for a competitor and was let go after a week, the owner just wanted his accounts that we blocked him from. The main supplier also called him 2X a week for 6 weeks to be a fill-in until the territory was sold, I was never contacted even though I had the highest profitable area.

Right before Christmas, a old co-worker got me some hours driving cannibus around the state. It pays decent, but you don't know your schedule until the night before, nor do you know where you are going to. Nothing like driving 7000 pounds of weed around 8 Mile in Detroit at 4 PM on a friday. Tomorrow, my first stop is in Traverse City - over 4 hours away.

Anyway, the local casino is starting dealers school at the beginning of April. Not many options that have great benefits for a 60-YO right now, so that looks like the plan for me.

It's going to get worse for a lot of people this year IMO.

Got offered a job as an information officer for Elections Canada working the Federal Election Monday, April 28, 2025 and for the advanced polls that start soon. Prolly gonna pass on the advanced polls but will work the election day gig as I've done in the past.

Rate of pay is only $21 an hour but its a 14 hour workday with OT after 8 hours so the day is good for a few hundo, basically for sitting around and doing as little as possible.

Nothing to do with tariffs. The big issue is that the owner can't afford what he wants to do. I've been promised new 2026 models to show to my prospects, since February. They're not gonna come before June now, and that sounds like another empty promise. I think he's not paying his suppliers and is on financial hold. It's a very common theme in this industry.

So I'm stuck having to sell air, based on phone (now iPad) pics. Nothing's getting delivered, no money is changing hands and I'm not making any commission.

Everyone is lying to everyone. It's lies all the way down.

There is demand for bikes I don't have demos of, namely gravel bikes. All I have with me right now are road bikes, which no one wants here. It's all about gravel in Ontario these days. We have some really really nice, affordable carbon fiber gravel bikes coming in for 2026. I have 20+ prospects that actually need these bikes because they're selling gravel faster than they can get them in. But they want to see them first. Of course they do! No one's buying sight unseen from a lesser-known Chinese brand, which is what I'm selling.

Matty - I need the bikes! No one's buying this stuff sight unseen!
Matty's boss - Well, this is the situation right now. Try to be more convincing.
