I think the press being paid for by the US government is actually a bigger story, but we have a ways to go yet.

Seems Politico, the NY Times, the BBC (yeah, England) were all paid significant sums with taxpayer dollars. So it came as a surprise when no employees at Politico received a paycheck this week.
