What EPL Team Should A Newbie Root For?

Manchester United matches actually get picked for tv rights, so you can enjoy watching the games at the pub with your lads, the other smaller teams maybe you'll be able to watch a handful of times per year
I like the idea of having to work hard to see games actually. It shows effort to care.

Besides, I don’t have friends RJ. I’m a loner. A rebel

First Round LOGOS

Nottingham has a phallic look to it. Usually that would rate it higher with my personality, but I’m trying to be more mature. Even with the phallic tree look, I like the overall scheme of it though. The color pops.

7.2 out of 10

Newcastle is the opposite. It’s TOO regal and mature. It’s like I’m watching BBC from the 1970s when I look at it. It’s also a lot going on and I’m not vibing with it.

5.3 out of 10

Brighton has a simple and fluid seagull. Normally, seagulls do nothing for me. In this instance, it pops without overwhelming my internal aesthetic. Feeling it.

8.1 out of 10

Round Two:

History and who owns them.

Brighton has the newest of the stadiums with it being only 14 years old. That’s a plus. They were relegated from 1982-2017 which gives me that “Red Sox” vibe of sucking for most of my formative years. Also a plus. The owner Tony Bloom is a gambler from England. HUGE bonus points right there.

8.7 out of 10

Newcastle has been in the Premier League all but 3 years of their long existence. Gives me the Yankees vibe. Not a fan. Owned by a Saudi Arabian consortium. Also not a selling point for me. I will say their stadium has some cool history.

6.4 out of 10

Nottingham has Greek owners that recently got a 5 stadium ban for being bad ass. That’s pretty cool. They have an extremely long history as well and have been relegated enough to keep them from being a superpower in my eyes.

7.4 out of 10

Round Three:

Theme Songs:

Nottingham has a song called “Mull Of Kintyre”. It has a bagpipe background and sounds like a rally cry from Braveheart. Very cool. Gave me goosebumps listening to it on You Tube.

8.2 out of 10

Brighton’s theme song sounds like a Leonard Cohen song sung and performed by Elton John. Not a huge fan of that collaborative sound. Keep in mind, I love Cohen.

6.1 out of 10

Newcastle’s theme song is a Kenny G sounding song called “Local Hero”. Okay maybe not Kenny G but the sax does nothing for me at all. Hard pass.

That particular song may suck but Newcastle's stadium atmosphere is out of this world, one of the best in the EPL

I would give 8.7 Matty Rains to Newcastle's ambiance

Final Tally

Newcastle 16.4
Nottingham 22.8
Brighton 22.5

Damn close between Brighton and Nottingham. Honestly thought Brighton would win but numbers don’t lie.

I am taking my rooting talents to Nottingham
Congrats and good luck! Looks like match will be here Monday .....

How to watch Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace live, stream link and start time

Kick off time: 3pm ET Monday
Venue: City Ground

Looks like a lovely stadium nestled in with their peeps. Middle in table seeing and 7 GF with 6 GA tells me a defensive first team.
