It is derived from venom (gila monster if I recall)

The way the venom works for the lizard is the same way Ozempic works for a human

It shuts down digestion

Ozempic works

The question is what are the longer term side effects

apparently this is the real deal?

anyone here curious to use it?
Yeah, it works for sure. I know a lot of people through my TikTok health channel (go figure, TT has all kinds of communities) who have used it to lose a ton of weight.

The biggest downside to it is that as soon as you stop taking it, all your old appetite returns. So a ton of people who try to get off it permanently gain some or all of their weight back. Basically stuck taking it for life for long-term results.

I spoke to Daddy Rain on his birthday last week, he lost 80lbs with it, from 316 to 236. I can give him my old fat pants at this point.

The big issue is that Ozempic doesn't simply burn fat, it also eats muscle in a big way.

Both my dad and father in law (who's also on it) have trouble with their balance because their legs are weak af. FIL keeps falling and my dad suddenly can't ride his bike.

There are probably ways to mitigate the muscle loss but meh. Fuck that. I'd rather lose fat the hard way and maintain my muscle mass.

Ozempic is an appetite suppressant. The muscle vs. fat loss criticism is the same if you just went on an extreme diet with caloric deficit. The short version is when you're in caloric deficit your body chooses what to burn and it often chooses fat and muscle proportionally (with a slight preference to preserve fat because the brain needs it). If you're in caloric deficit for whatever reason (diet, exercise or drug) you need to do strength training to "tell" your body to preserve the muscle.

I dunno if there's gonna be terrible unknown side effects in 20 years but I bet type 2 diabetes rates are gonna be near 0.

in 20 years no one will take Ozempjc for weight loss because there will be tons of data showing how it wreaks havoc on your body. The line on this is -210.
I disagree. Obesity is a massive issue in the United States and other parts of the world. And as much as the DiEt AnD eXeRcIsE crowd makes it out to be as simple as that to lose weight, there is tons of data showing that for many people, it simply doesn't work long term.

I doubt people struggling with obesity will find much sympathy and understanding on GameLive.com, but there's lot's of science on this. A lot of people have genetic predispositions (both physical and mental) to being overweight that isn't just solved by will power.

Ozempic and other drugs like it offer a real solution to this problem. I do believe there will be adjustments in the decades to come (perhaps advancements in the medications, dose optimizations, etc), and abuse of the drug will be an issue that needs to be addressed. But the pros outweigh the cons significantly enough that it's not going anywhere.

I lost 40 pounds in 9 months
After age 40

Here's what I had to do
P90X 6 times a week (M-S)
Ate no beef, pork, or chicken

Continued to drink when I felt like it
But towards the end scaled it back during the week and went to weekends only
And 2x workouts per day for the last month

Ate 1 cheese pizza a week on my cheat day (Sunday)

I'll skip the stomach paralysis (personally)

I also understand P90X is just not feasible for some people, and this is merely my personal opinion on what I would do with my body

I do feel that for those with Type 2, there's some upside.
