At one point in my life I reached 56o lbs. I had a gastric band surgery and lost down to 260 at one point. Still a big guy but hardly the massive slob I was before. As long as I was eating 2 table spoons of tuna and 4 crackers a day I was able to get to that 260 point. I had an accident and broke the band and eventually went back to eating normal portions and instandtly the weight started coming back.

Matty break

I dunno about being unfortunate looking, but losing 80 pounds probably made you totally unrecognizable to people who hadn't witnessed your gradual loss. (Close to 2 bills, really?)

I bet you still managed to be the runner-up in Miss Upstate NY.

Matty, you're my favorite French Canadian.

It was at least 80. I stopped getting on the scale when I hit over 200. Most people don't recognize me and I'm very okay with that.

For the record I never called Mrs. X a militant lesbian. I said my first impression of her after reading some of her post made me THINK of her as a militant leasbian. There is a significant distinction.

Matty, either way I think I may now be on a list. Not a good list either.

i.e. you posses all of the characteristics that make me think of a militant lesbian but I know you really aren't one because you are married to a man.

Fair enough.

I told you guys, there are no more lists! For real. I don't keep score in my head, hold long smoldering grudges or wait for the appropriate time to kick a man when he's down. That would be immature and just wrong.

As I type this I am at 367 lbs. With the knees the way they are the only way I've been able to lose weight at this point is by maintaining under 800 calories a day. I can't function at my job at that calorie count. I try to stay between 1500 and 2000 calories a day but I gain weight in that range.

wally do you have any specific medical condition that are perpetuating this?

I'm not a nutritionist (although I've dated a few) or a dietician but there has to be a reason why you don't lose weight at 1200 calories a day

You had to be the one guy. That .0001% that takes the wind out of my extremely well crafted and thought out post.

What's the affliction/syndrome?
