Why do internet people love cats so much?

Speaking for myself, I am a pretty big animal lover all around. I love cats specifically because they are interesting and beautiful.

I don't find it to be a loneliness issue. Until last summer, I had a cat for 16+ years. I got her when I was married and I kept her when we broke up and I loved the cat in all situations. My sister and her husband have 4 cats and I love all of them.

Certainly though, if someone was lonely, a cat or dog could be a great idea. I can't think of anything more natural than someone who is lonely wanting company. Pets provide unconditional love and good company. I would highly recommend a cat or dog for someone who is lonely.
 
Blitty, first off, you need to out the single guys with cats so we know who you are talking about.

Secondly, I used to own cats myself. I had a cool black male cat and a tiny little white female up until 8 yrs ago. The male cat died and the female disappeared after letting her out one night.
 
Muddy, you can slide because I think that 'ol' muddy' (the cat) is like the unofficial sponser of gamelive or something. Thats one cool cat.


My point of the thread was that in the real world I don't know many single guys with cats, but I have noticed that there are several on the internets. I was just curious to why this is...

my dad hates cats and instilled the hatred in us.

my wife brought home cat once agasint my will. I was the only person in the house that the cat would sit with or let pet it. LOL
we then let her outside, and she never came back, but she hangs at the neighbors house and roams the neigborhood like a diva.
she wont even come here to eat.

so I dont hate cats just dont care for them
 
I have a cat. His name is Floyd. Yes, I named him when I had hair down to my shoulders and was stoned off my ass everyday listening to Pink Floyd.

Cat had a contact buzz going every day for his first 3 years.

Sue me.

Bread your a married guy 'cat person'. I doubt when you were single and flying all over the country 'laying pipe' on a weekly basis that you brought your cat with you.

Blitty no I didnt' bring my kitty cat all over the country when I was in full horndog mode, but I had cats all my life. I am weirdo cat guy.
