I get that he's mad because Bread gave him a losing play and it cost him all his free plays at BP (his dream free plays gone. poof). He says Bread is mirthless, but I'm not sure shanty is using the proper word here. I know that would come as a shock to think that shanty has mistaken a word, but Bread is one of the least mirthless people I've ever known. He's overflowing with mirth.

I tried once but I had no patience for it. Was Joyce losing his mind when he wrote it? I don't recall hearing what circumstances led him to write it in the manner he did.

Excellent corollary, too, Mudcat. I didn't even skim this Shanty post, it was obvious nonsense about nine characters in.

well like a shakespeare passage, i could write 1000 pages on this

i am reading it over just now, there are many many themes

he repeatedly calls bread a "mirthless person" for giving him losers

this passage explains some of his hopes for making money from bread's picks:

i want to quit as i become suspect before secret agencies but,i think i never successful to earn some cash to leave online gambling or job here

and then he sums it up with this heartbreaking line:

you seems mirthless like my beauty of dreams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and then he follows with this gorgeous and tragic depiction of his loveless, day-to-day existence, absent the magic he wants to feel every minute:

theres way too much in this for me to get into it all now, he touches on a number of subjects - the nature of sbr, bookies, betting, love, bread, and on and on
