I know I have gone on a fair bit in the last while about my job search - and many people have offered helpful advice and support. Well I believe I have just hit a HOME RUN.

Went for an interview at a place and got hired on the spot. Damn I like people who just talk to you and decide how you come across instead of doing a bunch of forensics on your resume/references and obscure psychological profiling and whatever.

This company is FANTASTIC. Warehousing type jobs are never going to be very glamorous, but as far as they go, this is pretty much a dream job. When I was made aware they had my resume, I had filed the possibility of actually getting in there under too-good-to-be-true.

But I'm in. It's temp-to-perm so I can't quite say and they all lived happily ever after. But I've got my foot in the door and that's all I wanted. When they see me work, they will want me.

Great company. Huge successful Fortune 100 diversified technologies outfit. The facility is amazing. It's like a little village. All kinds of workout and recreation facilities. On-site doctor. I believe they have daycare. All kinds of shit. Even as a temp the pay is good, but once I get on their payroll, it's great pay and full benefits. There are lots of opportunities for advancement.

I know it's premature to say that everything is settled for me once and for all but I'm feeling it.

Good stuff Muddy, good stuff. BTW....do you have any goofy Newfie in you?

Nope, I am Ontario thru and thru.

NICE! work! Does this mean you will bail on the other job?

I would have if it came to that but that situation kind of took care of itself.

The details of the weirdness that happened with that job are spelled out in a thread titled

My new job (???)
