If you download the Amazon App Store then they give away one free app per day. Sure, a lot of them aren't worth having, and some are more suited to tablets and may not work on your phone, but they have given away some really good ones over the last few weeks.

Robyn, there is literally an App for practically anything you are into. There is generally a free App which will give you limited use so you'll want to do more with it and have to get the pay version. The good thing about the free ones is it enables you to really see what you want. You can delete the Apps easily enough to prevent from getting too clogged as well.

WARNING: Pay attention to what you are doing though cause it is easy to get carried away and buying way more Apps than you ever intended. I got carried away this weekend and pissed away $100 on Apps, most of which were musical instrument Apps and I can't play a single instrument.

Go to the Android market - http://bit.ly/gAvsAn - and browse the top rated free apps that you find interesting. Lots of the free apps have ads in them but you can often purchase the full versions if that gets annoying.

I don't add many Droid Apps mainly just the basics like Scores and stuff. Most of my Apps are for the IPad.

awesome suggestions guys, thanks! will let u know what i download. so far i have the basics, facebook, google, googlemaps, youtube, shazam, pandora, poynt (awesome for getting around nyc), bank of america, etc.

Robyn, or anyone, how do I name a folder that I've created in my home screen? i hold it down then pull it down to where it says "edit" but it doesn't do anything. also, how do i make it stop making a noise that sounds like wind everytime i comes out of sleep mode?

I'm just about as knowledgeable as you on the droid. I have all the same apps downloaded. I don't even know what the fuck a widget even is.

I know how to use my GPS and camera. That's about it.

Why do you guys use these soundhound/shazam apps? Do you get better sound? I'm confused.
