Not much to say by way of introductory remarks. This song is definitely not in the typical gamelive spirit of darkness, sarcasm and cynicism. Positivity and optimism may be detected. View at your own risk.

WATCHING THE CLOUDS DRIFT AWAY

Look at the beautiful sunrise
He cries though no one is there
Standing over the treetops
High on the green earth somewhere
Sometimes he talks to the mountains
Tells them what he has to say
Sometimes he smiles for no reason
Watching the clouds drift away

Ive been searching the forest
Exploring deep in the caves
Counting the stars as it darkens
Riding the crests of the waves
And Ive been doing some dreaming
Thoughts drifting so far away
I never dreamed of the beauty
Here before me today

And the wind blows on my back, like a gentle unseen hand
From the branches hidden eyes are watching as I go
And the rain falls from the sky, and the valley comes alive
With music, with a heartbeat ALIVE

Look at the beautiful sunrise
He cries though no one is there
Standing over the treetops
High on this green earth somewhere
Sometimes he talks to the mountains
And he tells them what he has to say
Sometimes he smiles for no reason
Watching the clouds drift away

Sometimes he smiles for no reason
Watching the clouds drift away

Great job Muddy. I am glad I happened to see this thread. I love the harmonica and piano backdrop, great lyrics too.

Are you a Dylan or Neil Young fan? I would love a Band cover at some point, I just finished a book on the Bands early days with ronnie hawkins in toronto.

Toronto seems to have always had a great music scene, Rush, Jeff healey to Joni Mitchell in the coffeehouses. Do you ever play live in Canada?

Great job!

Thank you.

I am a Neil Young and Dylan fan no doubt. Also the Band. I'm sure I could cover The Weight and a few other Band tunes - although it would be nice to have someone singing harmony. The finished version of this song of mine here will have two part vocal harmony basically throughout.

I don't play live anywhere, no.
