Hi Wally,

Kindly accept my apologies for not responding sooner, it has been a semi-nutty day. I'll certainly try to answer your questions honestly; as a caveat several will require some thought to ensure honest responses that at least have some interest for those gamelive posters who don't get goofy/silly/wet on my sporadic visits. Thanks very much for the soapbox!

Best regards,

Shannon

On The Record: MrD

1: How about some basic background, where did you grow up, where did you attend college, how long have you been involved in the gambling industry?
I moved quite a bit in my early years, spending time in 5 different states and several countries in Europe. Finished high school in the early 80s in the UK, the fairly normal common story of small school so everybody plays all the sports and knows everyone elses most embarrassing secrets. At my 25th reunion i spent the entire evening apologizing to people that i vaguely remembered for actions that i had completely forgotten. That, and of course drinking.

I half-heartedly attended a few colleges off and on over the years, primarily to avoid getting a "real" job. While I am far from intellectually gifted it was not unreasonable to expect some degree to show for my efforts. Not exactly the case. The meteoric heights to which i have risen and the momentous and historical accomplishments i can claim have all been powered by my high school diploma. (yes, that was indeed sarcasm)

Gambling has played some role in my life since my first trip to Vegas in 1987. Sportsbetting has contributed to my income (or shortage there of) since the early 90's, and my first online sportsbook was Gold-someshit that ended up tanking in the late 90s although I can't remember the exact year. SBR actually got me and a few hundred other players a bailout at VIP, which i certainly didn't complain about. Of course the results for VIP were much more lucrative than were mine.

Wally, you've got it all wrong. I love having you at Gamelive. You're a complete mess. The more complete messes we have here the better.

Hugs

2: Are you primarily involved with SBR TV or are you more of an all around executive of SBR? How long have you been associated with SBR and is that where you got your start or were you a prominent poster elsewhere before SBR?

SBR.TV takes up about a quarter of my time and energy, which is to say that i still have about 3/4 of my time at work to completely do nothing. I always liked the original video idea and the SBR TV program was sort of rudderless. To keep it from getting cut back any farther i kind of volunteered to spend some time working in that department. The only direction that i've ever given to Peter and his staff is "More and Better". There are some very talented people working back there make no mistake about that. I started working for SBR in 2005, about two weeks before they launched the posting forum. I have never been a prominent poster there or anywhere else.
