I'm not so sure that would be the case. It woudl have an effect, but it woudln't kill it. Besides it would force the local market in Buffalo to finally man up and stop rellying on Canadians to help fill the building and support the local economy.

When one of your borders is Canada, you will have Sabres
Fans there. Many Red Wings fans are from Windsor. Hamilton has been a big concern for Buffalo since the 70s and the WHA (I go back a ways).

Durito is bang on here. Absolutely bang on.

The NHL's talen pool is watered down with a bunch of 4th liners (even 3rd) who should be career AHL'ers. I am for certain that Reno would agree with Me on this.

I honestly believe there should be a rule that all JR aged players should spend at least 1 season of development in the AHL. PLayers are being rushed into the NHL these days which just kills or delays their overall development.

Cad gonna fall. If thats a reason for relocating a hockey team forget it. The nhl needs to contract teams.

That was the same thought I had when I heard people talking about the strong Canadian dollar being a reason Winnipeg will work. People are only able to look 3 inches in front of their faces sometimes. The US dollar was much stronger than the Canadian for decades - why wouldn't it go there again? Maybe not by next week but for something like this we should be talking about years and decades.

I also agree about contracting teams. Forget KC. Forget a return to Seattle or Cleveland or a venture into Las Vegas or Portland or whatever. Get rid of trouble franchises; don't add them.

Sad times. I went to most of the games the first 3 years they were in colorado and there was hardly an empty seat in the building ever.

That's awesome Durito. Those teams were pretty darn solid back then. Colorado has (or had) a nice group of young prospects/talent until they made that trade with St. Louis this past season. Stastny is on the market so their only hope will be Duchene who is the next Joe Sakic. How and why they traded Craig Anderson to Ottawa for Brian Elliot (career backup) is an absolute mystery to the NHL hockey world.

Detroit will not go in the East as much as I would like to see them there. Nashville is the most sensible move to the East in regards to proximity to replacing Atlanta in their division. Minnesota is likely the candidate to fill Nashville's hole, as well as moving Winnipeg to the North West division with Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Colorado.
