so my goal is to basically hang around until the last day of jury selection and then say something one of the lawyers wont want to hear so i can be excused.

My first one was a drug trial and the second involved an officer shooting a suspect.

The first one was like straight out of 12 Angry Men. I managed to convince the other 9 (only 10 jurors for these) that the prosecutor was weak in his evidence and the cop was sketchy in his testimony.

The second one we found the shooting was justified but there were some serious questions about some of the evidence. Problem was while we agreed the defendant was guilty and the officer acted in good faith we had no degrees of right or wrong. Laws are very cut and dry and sometimes you have to choose which way to go in a gray situation.

Jury duty is something everyone should do at least once.

There are positive things you will come away with and negative.

You definitely get a glimpse of just how slowly the wheels of justice turn.

We found the dealer innocent. The guy was a dealer no doubt but the circumstances around the arrest were questionable. The officer was in plain clothes there was doubt about whether or not he identified himself or not as well. The prosecution did a poor job in presentling their case as well.

In the shooting trial it was not to clear the officer it was to convict the defendant who got shot. We found he was guilty in the end. There was never a doubt that the guy was guilty but there were several questions about how the police handled certain situations and maybe even recorded some of the evidence. Those situations weren't what we were given to render a verdict on though.

The public defender did a poor job in the case. There was a bullet casing in a position that was in a position it should have never been had the shooting gone down the way it was reported. This bullet casing gave me much doubt about the testimony of events but in the end there was no question about the defendants guilt which is why were were at trial.

After the trial I called the States Attorney and we discussed the bullet casing and he said he realized that could be a problem but what had happened was it simply got kicked by a paramedic or someone else prior to Crime Scene guys getting there.
