I have this friend, well we used to be close friends but now we are more or less just friends but anyways he has been married 3 times.

The first wife, they were both really too young probably but she was a really nice girl. He cheated on her and eventually they split.

The 2nd wife was a sweet girl but she had no will of her own. She would speak when he spoke to her, wait on him hand and foot and essentially allow herself to be his slave not partner. He cheated on her throughout the marriage and eventually she stepped out on him and he left her.

The 3rd wife was more independent but still more submissive than assertive, he cheated on her as well and they eventually split as well.

This guy is of the belief that it is mans nature to cheat. That a man cant be beholden to just one woman. As idiotic as that sounds to me he is not alone in his belief.

So why do we justify or make excuses for men cheating? Why do we accept that, thats just how men are wired but if a woman does the same thing she is a slut?

If you have ever cheated on a mate and later learned she cheated on you how would you handle it? If you live by the code of there being a double standard what is the reasoning behind it?

seriously though

yeah, he is not alone and he has alot of science and evolutionary psych backing him up

look at just about any mammal and you will see that the male comes and goes...sows his seed and leaves.... sows his seed and leaves...

the female animals don't even want him around after the instinctual sexual act....

hell somtimes the male would eat the offspring if he could......

by and large that is the way it goes 90% of the time in the animal kingdom..

its nice to know that ducks or geese or swans are monogamous for life.....

Wal, you remind me of a Swan somtimes in your graceful posting style

It's pretty much a scientific fact. We are programmed to fornicate/try to fornicate with every girl that are at or above our attractiveness threshold.

As a matter of fact I have littered and I did feel guilty about it.
As for posting while on the clock, it's called multi-tasking. I am running process control lab work and it requires frequent checks so there is little else to do in between.

I had a Rottweiler that would eat her puppies in the first few weeks of birth if ya tried to pick them up.
and of course she'd also eat the pups that died after birth
gruesome stuff

Well the first one didn't know the real him. When they were dating he TOTALLY changed everything about himself. He gave up softball (he played for nationally sponsered teams) he gave up drinking, he went to church. He presented her with what he thought she wanted. As soon as the "I Do's" were said he went right back to who he was before. So at least in her case she was decieved.

Now the other 2 and the majority of the women he has dated along the way are emotionally needy types who aggressively accept a variety of flaws. The guy is decently handsome so with his looks and their lack of gumption it was rather easy.

If you know your prey it's relatively easy to prowl.

This is a dope's mentality. And I know there are a shitload of guys who feel this way. Dum.

:10:

Wakky - Why did you say "why do we accept that?"

Is that how you personally feel or was that just a societal 'we'? Because in my little society, none of my male friends would agree.

But I could just have hit the friend lottery for all I know.

So Matty and Arch, it’s scientifically support it makes it acceptable? Just because animals do it we as humans should endorse the double standard?

I’m not talking about the morality of infidelity (I can’t, I’ve slept with several married women) I’m talking about the double standard that it is widely accepted than men do it but women shouldn’t.

If a man can do it why can’t a woman? Why should society look differently at a woman’s infidelity than a man’s?

We're animals Wallayballs.

I have no problem with a woman who's sleeping around as often as she can as long as she's upfront about it. It's just not as common as the other way around.

Sounds like you're bringing religion into this once again.

I like sluts.

Generic "we" Oxy. As pointed out by both Arch and Matty it's scientifically substantiated.

I've never been the one in a relationship who has stepped out on someone. I have been the one stepped out with. Not that that make me any less complicit. I have always promised myself I would never cheat on a mate but a promise without potential is easy to keep I guess.
